CLBC's Mission Statement
"Love God, love people, and make fully devoted followers of Christ"
Loving God...
He is worthy of our worship and praise as our creator and our savior.
Loving people...
By serving them in the church, in our community, and around the world.
Making fully devoted followers of Christ.
We are all imperfect but together as a family and the body of Christ we will be devoted “to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
CLBC's Core Values
Biblical Instruction:
CLBC values God’s word, the Bible, and is committed to faithfully communicating its timeless truth in ways that are both instructive and applicable (Eph. 4:12-16; Ezr 7:9-10).
Fellowship:
CLBC values spiritual unity among followers of Christ that is relational and sacrificial. It is expressed in ministry opportunities that cooperate with one another and the Holy Spirit in accomplishing God’s will on the earth (Heb. 10:24-25; 13:1-2; Acts 2:42-47). CLBC values the use of small groups through which the Holy Spirit relationally encourages, engages, and equips His church to love God, love people, and make fully-devoted followers of Christ (Acts 2:44-47; Lk 8:10; Mt 4:18-22; 10:2-4).
Prayer:
CLBC values Spirit-led public and private prayer that draws participants into conversation with God. Therefore, the ministries and activities of this church will be characterized by a reliance on prayer in their conception, planning, and execution (Heb. 13:15; Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16; 1 Cor. 11:23-34; Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:42).
Missions:
CLBC values the role of missions in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. Therefore, CLBC commits to supporting prayerfully and financially both domestic and foreign missions in order to reach the lost for Christ. (Rom. 12:3-8; I Pet. 4:10-11).
Outreach:
CLBC values meeting the practical needs of others. Therefore, our church takes the initiative in mobilizing available relational and physical resources to serve those inside and outside our congregation (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 1 Thess. 1:2-10).
Family:
CLBC values an atmosphere where family relationships are nurtured and will pursue ministries that strengthen marriages and provide support for parents who desire that their children grow into fully-devoted followers of Christ (Dt 6:4-25; 2 Ti 1: 5, 13).
Stewardship:
CLBC values stewarding God’s gracious provision of people, time, money, facilities, and ministry opportunities responsibly. Therefore, it implements ministries and activities that are well organized, competently led, adequately funded, and diligently executed (Ex 18:13-26; Amos 3:2; Dt 1:9; 1 Co 14:33; Eph 3:2;1 Th 2:5; 1 Pt 4:6-10; 2 co 2:17; 2 Co 9:6-7).
